COMMERCIAL TOOTHPASTE...BEWARE OF WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR MOUTH!

Although we put it in our mouth and sometimes even swallow it (intentionally or not), toothpaste is considered to be a cosmetic product and its ingredients are regulated as such and unfortunately cosmetic product ingredients are very poorly regulated.Hence a word of warning about some of the common commercial toothpaste ingredients.

Sulfates (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate,Sodium Laureth Sulphate)

-foaming agents

-skin, eye, lung irritant

-interact and may combine with other chemical ingredients to form carcinogenic nitrosamines(damaging kidneys and respiratory tract)

Sodium Fluride

-supposedly builds healthy teeth

-in reality, it’s a byproduct of Aluminium manufacturing, also found in rat poison and pesticides

-used by Nazis to sterilize inmates and make them docile(dumbing them down)

-it’s the key ingredient of Prozac and Sarin nerve gas

Triclosan

-antibacterial

-endocrine disrupter(affects hormone levels)

-classified as pesticide by FDA

-classified as carcinogenic by Environmental Protection Agency

Propulene Glycol

-aids consistency

-petroleum based

-in large quantities it damages CNS, liver, heart

DEA(Diethanolamine)

-thickening agent

–disrupts hormones

-may form cancer causing nitrates by reacting with other ingredients

–risk of liver and kidney cancer

-interferes with Choline absorption (needed by unborn babies in womb)

Suddenly it’s not surprising at all that there is Poison Control warning on toothpaste tubes.
