DITCH DISPOSABLE, GO REFILLABLE

It brings me such joy and satisfaction to have connected with so many of my customers in the past couple years. We've engaged on so many levels, from the initial feedback and introductions to future plans and how to reach them. You've shown patience and understanding, you've also been so open and encouraged me to dream big and we often dreamed of a better future together. Somewhere, among those dreams lies the hope for a renewed commitment to and sense of gratitude for everything that nature gifts us.

So you guys will be happy to hear that, besides offering natural alternatives to heavily commercialised and synthetically enhanced products, Gavrilev is also taking a giant leap to help preserve nature's generousity and is switching to all REFILLABLE CONTAINERS!!!

But this means we'll go through some changes, it will take couple months to make the switch but I can't do this alone, I will need you all more than ever before. I need you to remember all the chats we had,the time when you first discovered what I, my products and the Gavrilev movement stand for and all the things you wished would change in the world. Harness the fire of those mental images and project them into the future. Here is your opportunity to take a step towards something meaningful, something that's bigger than us, the chance to turn back the twisted tentacles of convenience to the thoughtful ways of nature.

Just think about how many containers we're ditching on a daily basis. We try our best and pay attention to avoid over-packaging, we buy in bulk, carry our totes with us and we still end up with empty cream containers that will be discarded after just one use. Think of all the resources that went into that packaging, how long nature had to work to produce the raw materials for it, the energy for its processing, the time spent on making it and compare that with the level of consideration we give it once we're done consuming the product it contains. The gap is so huge, it's an ever growing divide between consciousness and mindless consumption and I'm trying to reverse it.

Wouldn't those resources, energy and time be better used somewhere else than the constant supply of disposable packaging? Maybe in providing clean water to all or building refuges for the most vulnerable... Just think of every refill as a donation of those resources, time and energy towards a more noble cause than the fact that we can't be bothered any less.

My son told me I'll be fighting windmills with this one and I know it's going to be a huge risk (I might even have to close shop if I can't get enough of you on board). My prices will probably go up as I switch to higher quality/ mostly glass containers, you'll have to make an effort to keep track of your products and return empty containers for refills but I will try to make it worth your while, insha'Allah. My delivery rider will be able to pick up your empty containers every time you place a new order, the Farmer's Market is also a generous patron of this initiative and will try to facilitate in taking your refill orders and you will also be surprised at the amazing discounts you'll get on your refills (because a huge chunk of the price is just packaging).

So, all in all it will be a different experience but it will be doable. It will take its toll on our ego and comfort and despite all that it will definitely help us become better versions of ourselves, more responsible, caring, mindful people who choose to spend their money where it truly counts. I think it's safe to say that I refuse to give in and I choose to believe that when the time will come, you'll stand with me for change, you'll step up for what's right and you'll take the step for the dreams you wish to become reality because, as my mother used to say, "A hay stack burns brighter and longer than a single hay strand" .
