Aren't you just sick and tired of the heaps of plastic bags piling up on the streets of Karachi? Cows graze on them, some locals occasionally burn them in complete disregard of the toxic gases the fire emits and the city cleaners collect them and dump them God only knows what landfill that will remind future generations of our irresponsible ways of consumption.
I find it very liberating when I can actually do something about a problem that bothers me and my conscience and saying no to plastic bags when I shop and carrying my own bags with me wherever I go is one of the ways I do my part and show my gratitude to nature's precious resources.
And speaking of resources, how about taking it even a step further and making your own bag from an old pillow cover you no longer use and save the precious materials needed for a new bag? Come on, give it a try, it's not difficult at all, you'll see.
