Making almond (or any nut) butter at home is so much easier than you’d imagine. All you really need is a high speed chopper with a strong motor (700 watts or more) and your nuts. Here are the step by step instructions of how I make it.
One thing to keep in mind before you start is that the amount of butter you’ll get is approximately half the amount of nuts you used to make it (in volume).
1.Toast your nuts. This step is completely optional but I like the roasted flavour in the butter.Just as an idea, oven temp should be around 160 C and it will take from 10 to 15 min.Just break the almond and it should have a nice off white to light golden shade.
2.Put your nuts in a high speed chopper.
3.And chop.
4.And chop
5.And ready.
At this stage you have the option of adding a pinch of salt and honey as per taste, and even a bit of additional oil for extra creamy texture. All that remains is to enjoy…
