Aloe Vera is a plant that needs no introduction. It's loaded with the natural goodness of minerals, vitamins and amino acids and is a very versatile medical plant that does almost everything from healing to cleansing. You may want to take it internally, or use it on your skin ( to beautify or heal ) or even to wash your hair, either way I highly recommend using the fresh gel instead of the store bought, stabilised one. It's not a big investment, it's a hardy plant and you can even grow it in a pot and, to repeat myself, your gel will be FRESH!
To get to what's at hand, below are the instructions on how to remove the fresh gel from the leaf of your plant
You will need:
-an aloe leaf
-a knife
-a spoon
-a blender

Step 1. Cut off the fresh leaf. You will immediately notice that a yellowish quite unpleasant smelling liquid starts to ooze out of it.Let the leaf sit for a while(preferably in fridge) and then wash off the yellowish liquid and proceed to the next step.

Step 2.Cut off the spiky edges as shown in picture above.

Step 3.In case your leaf is very wide cut it in half lengthwise.
Step 4.Fillet off the top green layer as close as possible to expose the gel.

Step 5.Scoop out the gel with help of a spoon and blend to liquefy.

Use as much as you can while fresh(especially if you want to ingest it) and freeze the rest for later use in ice cube trays.
There are countless ways to use the obtained juice/gel, here are some ways in which I use them:
-i drink it while fresh (very important) by adding 1/2-1 tsp to my fresh fruit juice
-in making my soaps
-as water phase in lotions
-for healing acne scars(i mix it in the face pack powder)
-apply it to relieve sunburn (it's amazing)
-apply it for rashes
-my friend used it to wash her hair using this recipe and she says it did wonders for her hair fall.
